Happy hour specials in Toronto
Every room on this page is one we have reviewed and scored — this is not a submissions inbox. What matters about a happy hour is rarely the discount: it is the window, and whether the deal applies where you are actually sitting. Both are on every card.
Call before you go. Happy hour is the most volatile thing a restaurant publishes — windows move with the season and deals get cut without notice. The times and prices below are editorial and have not been confirmed with the restaurants, so we do not publish them as machine-readable offers. Treat every one as a reason to phone ahead.
The short version
Weekday only, almost without exception. Several stop at Thursday. And 18 of the 25 apply at the bar or counter only — a booked table in the dining room at the same hour pays full price, which is the most common way to get this wrong.

Area guideFrequently asked
- What time is happy hour in Toronto?
- Most Toronto happy hours run somewhere between 3pm and 7pm on weekdays, and the common shape is a two-hour window before the dinner service starts. The short ones are the ones worth planning around — Alobar in Yorkville runs a single hour from 5pm, and Bar Isabel’s bar deal is gone by 6:30pm.
- Which Toronto restaurants have the best happy hour?
- For value, Indie Alehouse in The Junction takes the house pints down across a full three-hour window. For something better than the price suggests, The Westerly on Roncesvalles does dollar-a-shuck oysters and Alobar Yorkville sells them by the piece at the counter. Bar Raval on College is the best room to stand in while you drink.
- Do Toronto happy hours run on weekends?
- Mostly not. Almost every listing here is Monday to Friday, and several stop at Thursday. Weekend evenings are when these rooms are full at full price, so the deal is not on offer. Playa Cabana Cantina and Barque both exclude weekends outright.
- Is happy hour usually bar-only?
- Frequently, and it is the single most common reason people arrive and do not get the pricing. Byblos, Bar Isabel, Barque and Alobar all run theirs at the bar or counter only — a booked table in the dining room at the same hour pays full price.
- Where is there a happy hour on a patio in Toronto?
- Terroni on Adelaide, Mamakas on Ossington, Big Crow in Summerhill, Tabülè in Riverside and The Blue Goose in Mimico all run theirs on the patio. All of them are effectively seasonal — the deal exists year-round but the seat you want does not.
- Does Scarborough have happy hour?
- Barely, and it is worth saying plainly. Scarborough has some of the best-value eating in Toronto but very little of the licensed bar culture that happy hour depends on — the value there is in the food at full price rather than in a discounted drinks window. See the Toronto guide for where to eat instead.
- Are these happy hour times confirmed?
- No. Happy hour is the most volatile thing a restaurant publishes — windows move seasonally and deals get cut without notice. Every listing on this page is editorial and unconfirmed, which is why none of it is published as machine-readable offer data. Call before you plan an evening around a deal.
