Fish & Chips
Beer-battered, properly drained, not greasy. The safe order and the right one.
Pub · Mimico
A genuine 19th-century Mimico pub that never got renovated into blandness
The Blue Goose has the thing you cannot build: age. It has been on this corner in one form or another since the 1800s, and the room still carries it — dark wood, low ceilings, the sense that the walls have absorbed a century of conversation.
The food is pub food done with care rather than ambition. Fish and chips is the order: properly battered, properly drained, arriving hot. Wings are crisp, the burger is honest, and none of it is trying to be anything other than what it is. The beer list leans local and the staff know it.
Honest notes: this is not destination cooking and does not claim to be. It gets loud when the game is on, and the patio has a queue all summer. Come for the room and the neighbourhood, and eat well while you are there.

Crisp without being armoured. Go hot.
Unfussy, well-seasoned, cooked to where you asked.
Come for the patio and the history. Fish and chips, a local pint, and stay a while.
