The review

The Jane Bond has anchored Waterloo’s creative arts and music community for over two decades. Tucked into Princess Street East, it is the antithesis of sterile cookie-cutter franchise pubs: retro vinyl records, local art on the walls, and a soundtrack curated by passionate resident selectors spinning funk, soul, and indie wax.

The kitchen is entirely vegetarian and remarkably delicious — the buffalo cauliflower wings and signature house burger are celebrated by meat-eaters and vegans alike. The rotating craft beer draft list champions local independent Ontario breweries.

Honest notes: come for a relaxed craft pint and snacks on the courtyard patio in the late afternoon, or show up at 10pm when the vinyl DJs turn the cozy room into an intimate neighbourhood dance groove.
