The review

Scarborough has enough Hakka restaurants to sustain a genuine rivalry, and Hakka Legend's claim rests on the vegetarian half of the menu, which is longer and better than almost anyone else's.

Chilli paneer is the argument-settler: dry, hot, and better here than anywhere nearby. Lollipop chicken is the meat equivalent and stains everything it touches. Hot garlic vegetables demonstrate that the vegetarian dishes are not there out of politeness.

Honest notes: it is a small room and weekends are tight. There is not much atmosphere and parking is limited. It is also cheaper than its more famous neighbours, which counts.
