The review

Libretto is old enough now that it is easy to forget how much it changed. Before it, Neapolitan pizza in Toronto was a rumour. After it, every neighbourhood had a wood oven.

The margherita is still the order — DOP tomatoes, fior di latte, a base with proper leopard-spotting and enough salt in the dough. The duck confit pizza is the house special and has outlasted every trend that came after it. Eat quickly: a true Neapolitan base goes soft in the middle within minutes, which is a feature of the style rather than a fault.

Honest notes: Ossington is loud and busy, and a pie is a single serving rather than something to share. The gluten-free base is unusually good.
