The review
Seven Lives is a doorway in Kensington Market with a griddle behind it, and it makes tacos that would be talked about in any city. The gobernador — smoked marlin, shrimp, melted cheese — is the one people queue for, and it earns the queue.
Get a baja fish taco alongside it, battered and fried and dressed simply, and a camarón if you want to pretend you are having the lighter option. Three tacos is a lunch; four is the honest number.
Honest notes: there is essentially nowhere to sit, the queue starts around noon, and it closes early enough that it is not a dinner plan. Eat standing on Kensington Avenue like everyone else.

Baja Fish Taco
Battered, fried, cabbage and crema. The classic, executed properly.
Camarón Taco
Grilled shrimp for anyone who wants the lighter version. Nobody does.
